HICE is our Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine vehicle. Modifying a regular motor Honda GX35 to work on hydrogen, the students of Los Altos Academy of Engineering have successfully been able to run the motor. The HICE vehicle was originally inspired by Mr. Keirns for the Shell Eco-marathon. Students have then discovered a viable fuel injector to be used from Dr. Bleckham from Cal-State LA.

SPECIFICATIONS

HICE was designed with a Honda GX35 motor and was used on the hydrogen vehicle. The body originally belonged to High Voltage, another legacy vehicle, but it was temporarily converted. The composites team worked hard and was able to infuse a new body for HICE with the converted High Voltage body.

ACCOLADES

With the working motor, HICE was able to compete at the second Shell Eco-marathon in 2008.
