Jason Brown is one of the Los Altos Academy of Engineering’s
very own. He graduated from Los Altos High School on
June 2003. From there, Brown moved on to Cal Poly Pomona
in order to major in Liberal Studies.
The LAAE program had such a great impact on his career
choice. As he balances his time between going to school,
and being one of the advisors for the program, he finds
time to show his passion for the engineering program
by teaching the pre-engineering class. This class prepares
the students who are interested in pursuing the field
of engineering and also to continue to being a part
of the program.
During Brown’s years at LAAE he had been a part of the
electrical team as well as the public relations team.
The numerous projects that were offered in the program
started to interest Brown in participating in them.
With his interest in the projects and his passion for
the program, Brown became involved in many projects
like BYDV, Botball, Light Speed 2 and 3, Speed Racer,
High Voltage, ZEV Challenge, Infusion, and Middle School
Robotics.
With a vivid background of having been on the program
before, Brown was automatically interested in giving
back to the program as soon as he got the chance. Brown
became involved in the LAAE program once again, but
this time it was for different goals. Instead of coming
to build a car for the Solar Challenge, Brown would
be helping other students build the car themselves and
he would be the one to give advice. Brown felt that
the LAAE had given him so much that he wanted to give
back to the program that opened his eyes to all the
opportunities he had.
Jason Brown is now the teacher of the pre-engineering
class at Los Altos, as well as one of the advisors for
the Botball team and for the LAAE. With Brown’s support
and advice, the LAAE is able to move on to add more
projects on their list.
